Nothing is more devastating than standing on the sideline when a player is hit, goes down, and does not move. Having experienced this recently, I was reminded of how important this issue is.

I asked my new partner, Dr. Greg Anderson, to assemble a cadre of experienced physicians, therapists, and other professionals and present an issue of the Clinics in Sports Medicine devoted to head and neck injuries in sports. As usual, Greg focused his remarkable abilities on the task and has developed an outstanding treatise on the care of these injuries.

This issue is an important one. You may want to tuck it away in your team physician bag for the next time you are standing on the sideline!
